About MOT Facts

MOT Facts is an independent data project. The UK's MOT test generates an enormous amount of useful information about which parts of which cars tend to fail — but it is published as raw, multi-gigabyte files that are hard for ordinary buyers to use. This site processes that data into clear, per-model reports.

What we believe

• Show the data, then explain it. Every page starts with real numbers.
• Be honest about limits. MOT data covers testable defects only — it is not a reliability score, and we say so on every page.
• Fewer, better pages. We don't publish pages backed by too little data; see the methodology.
